DMCA / Copyright Policy

TitleQuiet respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy explains how to submit a DMCA takedown notice and our response procedures.
1. Public Records & Copyright
The primary data displayed on TitleQuiet — recorded deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and other instruments in county clerk records — consists of public records that are not protected by copyright under Feist Publications, Inc. v. Rural Telephone Service Co., 499 U.S. 340 (1991). Government records are generally in the public domain.
However, TitleQuiet's own software, design, analysis algorithms, educational content, and proprietary data compilations are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without written authorization.
2. DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe content on the TitleQuiet platform infringes your copyright, submit a written notice to our designated DMCA agent containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- Identification of the specific material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it
- Your contact information (address, phone number, email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf

4. Counter-Notice
If content you submitted was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was in error, you may file a counter-notice with our DMCA agent containing the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), including a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed by mistake.
5. Repeat Infringers
TitleQuiet will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
